Holiday Stripes - My Lovely Finish for December

The weather outside has been, at times, frightful.  The first big storm of the season inspired me to make this quilt ... and, as the temperature dropped to the single digits, I was motivated to finish it.

I'm not usually a quick quilts kind of girl, but this one was very quick and reminded me that simple quilts can be quite lovely.

Holiday Stripes

It is made from this month's pattern for the Block Lotto, Stripes, using strip sets to make this quick block even quicker.

This morning, after seeing this great photo of Kathy's Flying Geese quilt (made from blocks she won from the Block Lotto earlier this year), I was inspired to take mine outside for a photo, too. After a couple failed attempts, I threw it over a neighbor's adobe wall.

On a Neighbor's Wall

I'm happy to be finished with this flannel cuddle quilt for grown-ups–it's 75 inches square and can't wait to curl up in it ... inevitably with the cats.  I am joining these link parties:

  5. I think that is one of those quilts that is simple, but not boring. One of my biggest objections to the simple and easy patterns are that they are soooooo boring. This pattern also has a lot of possibilities to make it different. Imagine it with a dark background and light bars.
