I'm sure I sounded like a whiny baby when I explained that I couldn't stand the physical pain of carrying one more bag or the process of putting together a project to bring to the hotel. Yesterday, I did manage to trim a quilt, make binding, sew it on, and pack up everything I needed to stitch it down in the hotel last night. The electric heater that the heating service guy loaned me made it possible ... until I turned on the iron and blew the circuit in the studio ...
I have a bit more stitching until I'm completely done (and I'll finish today for my Slow Stitch Sunday project). Last night I noticed that the colors of the quilt worked well with the decor of my hotel room and couldn't resist spreading it out over the king-size bed for a photo.
The lighting isn't great, but ... good enough for me to share this Lovely Finish.
I'll have more details to share later, but I couldn't wait to share my November Finish (and the first EVER Block Lotto sampler quilt I've finished in the same year as we made the blocks that are in it.)
Update - here's the finished quilt hanging in my VERY COLD studio.

I just love it Sophie. I really enjoyed making this year's blocks, both for the lotto and for my own sampler. Many thanks!
ReplyDeleteIt's just grand, Sophie. Congratulations on a fine finish! I've had fun making the blocks this year. I look forward to playing along with you in 2015.
ReplyDeletethe quilt looks wonderful - when do you get your scan done to see if you have physical damage from the car hitting you? hope you feel better soon
ReplyDeleteSo happy to hear that you are able to sew; (I mean what's a little circuit breaker between friends? lol). The quilt is really lovely...Quite a feat to finish up all those blocks...looks great, hugs and feel a lot better soon Julierose
ReplyDeleteYour quilt looks lovely on the bed and so pleased you were able to finish given what's happened to you.
ReplyDeleteHope you continue to improve and that you can get back to your place asap.
Love the quilt. Your group does great work.
ReplyDeleteWow you have been busy- love the colours and the quilting is fabulous.
ReplyDeleteTHIS IS A REALLY BEAUTIFUL QUILT. CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR FINISH.
ReplyDeleteThat is beautiful! Great finish.
ReplyDeleteAMAZING! It's beautiful. I'm very impressed by how fast you were able to sew on the binding.
ReplyDeleteThis is a spectacular quilt!
ReplyDeleteHello, breaking circuits is something my friends were talking about this week. My friend who teachers quilting in a large shop told us they regularly change their irons because they often are the problem when the power goes out due to a circuit breaker. Best wishes Wendy
ReplyDeleteit's fabulous! I knew as you were working on this that I was going to like the finished quilt and I wasn't wrong!
ReplyDeleteOh wow.. Not a color pallet or a pattern I would have been drawn to but so striking and lovely when you finished it.
ReplyDeleteVery beautiful. Quilters are notoriously resourceful. Congrats on a big finish.
ReplyDeleteYou are amazing Sophie!
ReplyDeleteThe quilt is beautiful, design, color choices, quilting - ALL of it Beautiful!!!
Hope things settle down for you soon and that you are feeling better as well! Hugs from NH! Marie
Wow! Wow! Wow!
ReplyDeleteI was wondering how you were going to quilt it. Now I'm wondering how I'm going to quilt mine since I like to make a quilt start to finish by myself and I just have a plain old DSM or hand quilt. Hmmmm...
Anyway, thanks for the blocks, sampler and design. It's been fun. Looking forward to next year now.
It has come together so nicely after seeing all your blocks on the design wall. You should feel very happy. Great job
ReplyDeleteOh! I love it!
ReplyDeleteWow, your quilt is gorgeous. Lynne does beautiful quilting! I've enjoyed seeing this quilt come together. So sorry about all the challenges in addition to the driving menace!
ReplyDeleteIt's beautiful, congratulations on your finish! Now you can cuddle under it if the heater still doesn't work.
ReplyDeleteVery beautiful quilt !
ReplyDeleteBeautiful quilt...I especially like how the background color flows into the borders too!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful quilt--love the colors and the blocks. The quilting really adds so much too. Just wonderful
ReplyDeleteI love the quilting on this -- especially in the white (no color areas). Well done!
ReplyDeleteWow, it looks great, Sophie - fantastic finish indeed. Haven't been following much lately on anyone's blog, so I didn't see a lot of your recent saga with the cell phone menace and the second round of CO problems, but I'm thinking of you now...
ReplyDeleteSophie your quilt looks so beautiful. It looks peaceful and fresh. I love the colors you chose. Great job!
