I do need to start QUILTING things ... but in the meantime, I have started a new project:

I acquired some of these (in a couple flavors/colors) when I lived in Texas–Thank you, Texas Tamale Company. I wondered if they could be used as quilting fabric ... I am about to find out.
While not exactly scraps, they are close enough and printed in the appropriate color–shades of chocolate– to share with the
Rainbow Scrap Challenge list today.
Good luck using your new fabric. It is a lovely shade of brown.
ReplyDeleteOh how neat--I will be watching to see how they go--sounds like fun!! hugs, Julierose
ReplyDeleteOh oh oh oh! I have been saving the rice bags for that same purpose! If I love yours it might inspire me!
ReplyDeleteLove to see repurposing projects.
ReplyDeleteLOVE this idea . . .
ReplyDeleteRecycled fabric sounds great for a scrap challenge! Looking forward to seeing what develops!
ReplyDeleteThose bags appear to be made from muslin. Good luck with your quilting experiment!!
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see what you decide to do with those great fabrics.
ReplyDeleteI had some that were very similar. I but off the seams and make mug rugs out of them. I used bright colored "Mexican Fiesta" type fabric for the backs. I used both the front and backs for the mug rugs. Gifts for Christmas.
ReplyDeletenow that's unusual and a great shade of brown. Very cool

I love those and can't wait to see what you do with them.
ReplyDeleteYou are so lucky to have such neat bags. Whatever you do will be fun. The mug rug idea sounds good. Have fun!
ReplyDeleteThose will make some fun blocks.
ReplyDeleteMost excellent idea!
ReplyDeleteI'm looking forward to how this project turns out! What fun!
ReplyDeleteI have been saving those too. One got food on it and I washed it. Just want to let you know that the lettering does fade out a lot. I was disappointed that the coloring wasn't bright like it was before it was washed. Sorry to share unhappy news! I love them and think they will add just the right something to a quilt.
