Picking Up Where I left Off

When you temporarily stop blogging–for whatever the reason–it's sometimes hard to know how to pick up again.  Some authors offer an apology and/or explanation ... But I'll just say that things were very, very bad and now they are better.

And for a little eye-candy, how about this quilt, which also happens to be the last thing I blogged about before this blog went dark.

Emma is a Star

This photo was taken at the Northern New Mexico Quilt Guild's Quilt Fiesta, which was a lovely show in a new-and-improved venue at the Convention Center.
Label for Emma is a Star
Although I am no longer a member of the guild (which holds too many of it's activities during the work day which doesn't work for me), it was fun to see three quilts there in which I had a part.  This is one of them.

After piecing the top of this quilt, I don't think I will ever shy away from Y-seams again :-)

Incredible as it may seem ... I have plans to make something similar for me and maybe putting together a pattern with tips for making friends with Y-seams.

I was just talking about you today. Did your ears burn? It was all nice! How lovely to have that hanging in the show. I'm glad you got to go. I hope everything is going much better now. MUCH better!

What a great title that would be "Making friends with y-seams".
Love that quilt! I assume the seams are still all done on machine?
I can't quite imagine.

Welcome back! I've missed you! (I took a long blogging hiatus when my marriage imploded, so I understand how hard it is to restart.) I hope things continue to get better for you.
I'm getting lots of y-seam practice with Glitter. Nothing like a quiltfull of the little boogers to take the edge off, eh?

Oh Good! I've been waiting for you. I was hoping you just were not in the mood to blog. I've had my downtime this year too with the passing of my husband. Sometimes life is just too hard and blogging doesn't help. Now on to the quilt - very pretty! I love doing y-seams, once you know the secret they are fun.

Good to have you back Sophie. Lovely quilt, although with a sad story. It will be cherished.
