First the GOOD news.
I have chosen the winners for the giveaway for the In Your Words blog hop.
Congratulations go to:

Scrapatches
I have sent email to both of you and only need your mailing address to send your goodies.
Now the BAD NEWS.
Last night, I was on the home stretch quilting my really old UFO scrap comfort quilt when my little Bernina died.
The nearest dealer is more than an hour away and the earliest same day appointment is at the end of next week.
The contract for my job went sideways and I lost my job just before Christmas–I haven't shared the news because I didn't want to be a downer. Quilting has helped keep my balanced through the stress of no job in an area with few opportunities.
And now my machine is dead.

come over here and borrow one of my machines! sorry to hear your bad news on the job front and on the sewing front. that's tough.
Oh, thanks so much for the giveaway!
So sorry to hear about your job situation and your machine. :( I will say some extra prayers for you.
Sorry about the job and machine. Hopefully both will improve soon. Your scrap quilt is looking great.
I am sew lucky. Thanks sew much for the giveaway. It is so generous of you to do this while you are, I am sure, budgeting carefully while you seek new employment.
I pray you will be able to find work soon. We are in similar situation here as my hubby's position was cut last fall. Sewing is my happy place right now, too.
May you have use of a loaner and may your own sewing machine soon be humming away again and the soothing fabrics flowing through your fingers.

So sorry to hear about the loss of job and machine at the same time... a double whammy :(
Hopefully both will be replaced really soon.
Very sorry to hear about the employment situation. You've had more than your share of disappointments in that area in the last few years.
Hope you can get the machine going soon. Maybe you can enjoy some movies and books from the library while you are waiting for your machine to be repaired.
Well, that sux. You'd be welcome to borrow my spare machine, but not very practical, I know. Hugs to you.
Aww, I feel for you. I'm so sorry that your machine died, and your job didn't work out. Praying you get a new job soon, and a machine that is running.
sorry to hear about your job and your machine Sophie :( wishing you success in finding new employment real soon
I'm so sorry to hear that job and machine are both out for the count!
Grrr *kicks the life machine* "Cut Sophie a break!"
Oh Sophie, I'm sad for you, you are really unlucky. Wish you better days.
So sorry Sophie, you have had more than your share of clouds. I pray you will be able to find a good job (soon). This too shall pass. Hang in there.
That's a bummer about the job and the machine. I hope things work out for you really soon.
I am so sorry to hear of yoru bad news. Both of those are life shattering. WishI was closer. But I am in South Carolina. You could come sew at my place. Keep your chin up and think positive thoughts...This too shall pass.Keep a look out at local thrift stores I often times see older machines at those stores pretty cheap a lot cheaper than paying to have one fixed.

Sophia, I am so sad to hear about your job situation and your Bernina. It seems that when it rains, it pours and that is so hard. Praying for a better 2013 with a job you love and a healthy Bernina!
I have a Bernie 180 and just recently got it back from a yearly tune up...I felt lost without it! I am so sorry for yours dying at such a bad point in your fantastic quilting project.
I think your fmq is wonderful
Sending you hugs from across the Atlantic while hoping that things improve quickly for you Sophie. Take care.
I'm sorry, Sophie! I do understand, sewing is like a stress reliever many days...I hope things (and a job!!) picks up for you soon!!
