The Perennial UFO

This is an old photo, but that's OK, since no progress has been made since I last admired these blocks.

Whenever February rolls around, I am motivated to pull it out and put it up on the wall and work on it ... and yet it remains unfinished.

  The idea

The word blocks were won in the Block Lotto three years ago. The wonky rose blocks were made by me and others from the block lotto community to help me get this quilt together and yet I haven't been able to make it happen . . . yet.

A Lovely Year of Finishes This is my February choice for a Lovely Year of Finishes, organized
by Melissa of Sew Bittersweet Designs and Shana of Fiber of All Sorts.

It's an ambitious choice for me–I have some other commitments for February that will also have to be finished, but ... I'm up for the challenge.

I think it needs some valentine fabric in it :)

I remember the "words" month. Mine didn't work out so good. This is a great quilt to finish this month. Maybe some more roses on the right side?

Sophie, I'm working on mine too. My makeshift design wall had been covered with a blue and white one-block wonder for 2 years, and I took them down today so I could pin up the terms of endearment and pink and white 2012 sampler blocks and see what I need to add or subtract to end up with a quilt. My thought is that I will make this a 1st anniversary quilt for my daughter and son-in-law, add their names and the wedding date. First anniversary is july 7, 2013, so I have a deadline! Let me know if you need pink or valentine's fabric; I have a huge selection that I gathered when my quilt was headed in a different direction. Happy to share.
