Border Update

Ginger and I had the same idea–that a darker tone-on-tone inner border was needed.

Maple Leaf WIP with Borders

The quilt top measures 24 x 30 inches. I'm excited to quilt and hang this one.

I like it, that inner border really does help. If you have more, that would be nice for the binding too.

(Have you started to count down to Houston?)

Inquiring minds wants to know how big the individual blocks are...no matter, it is beautiful! I love fall leaves and colors.

Rose, the maple leaf blocks are three inches. While I was putting them together, I wondered if I could make 1-1/2 inch blocks ;-)

so many product lines these days includes a large splashy focus print for the wide outside border and this type of print just does not showcase fine hand or machine quilting well. Have you considered a solid or almost solid in place of the focus print, and perhaps a narrower band of another solid or almost solid?

Too funny, I'm research layouts for maple leaf quilts using the image search on google, and click on this and it's your blog
