It's providing a break from what is turning out to be a more-stressful-than-necessary move. I'm not sure why I expected my often dishonest, negligent landlords to behave any differently now that they are selling the house and I am trying to gracefully leave this house ... sigh.
I originally had a different plan for the quilting, but the idea of using a variety of designs based on a equilateral triangle grid took hold ... here's a closer look at the first two. Both are unmarked, using a ruler.
(I haven't decided how to quilt the centers of the "cogs"or if/how to quilt the ghost cogs.)
I am joining the lists for:

Wow! I didn't expect the quilting, but I like it! Leaving the ghost cogs blank would make them stand out
I agree.........leave the ghost cogs blank or they will not show as much.
I love the ghost cogs! I'm a big fan of negative space, and you utilize it beautifully!
Gorgeous colours, and as above I would leave the ghost clogs to be themselves. Just popped over from Lets Bee Social, nice to meet you, and good luck with your move, doesn't sound like much fun :(
Love the quilting on this piece! Keep going, so worth it!
That is one special doll, or girl, that will get a doll quilt with so much work put in to it!
I think this just keeps getting better. Love the "wheelie" quilting and I'm really digging the plain ghost cogs. Beautiful work.
Very impressive quilting. Although I am not usually an avid fan of "modern quilting" your quilt is changing my mind enough that I felt I had to comment. I think the pops of color coupled with the quilting texture variation is very very striking. Your skills may be making a fuddy-duddy quilter a convert.
This is turning out wonderful. I assumed you would leave the ghost clogs blank - but if they were quilted, I would imagine little designs as if the fabric was there. (little fabric patterns). Darn those landlord for being what they are - just "no good". Sigh - I do hope things work out quickly and to your advantage.
I love how you changed the plain diamonds into those round-appearing shapes. Great job! This is turning out to be fun, isn't it? I'm sorry your landlord is a boogerhead.
Sorry to hear about your difficult move. Hope things get better. That doll quilt is coming along nicely.
I like the simplicity of this quilt and I also like that the different areas of the quilt are quilted differently. Part of it looks like sashiko.
Definite Sashiko feel to the quilting - what a lot of attention to detail! Thanks for linking up to #scraptastictuesday!
it's looking fantastic! I love the ghost cogs and think you should leave them unquilted so they stand out.
How interesting, I'm really taken by the ghost cogs too!
Aren't those cute!!
