Last month, the long Bargello 9-Patch blocks weren't so popular and few seemed to see the design possibilities that I saw in it, so I put my name into the hat and won. Here are the blocks I've received so far, on my design wall.
They are laid out in an approximation of one of the quilt layout ideas I had for the block, shown here in a quick and dirty EQ7 quilt design, using 3-inch strips of yellow and gold fabrics to turn pairs of the 4 1/2 by 18 inch blocks into 18-inch squares.
I am waiting for blocks from 4 more quilters–some of which are literally coming form half-way around the world.
In any event, I won't have another chance to play with them until after my move (and all that unpacking).

So where are you headed?
I need to start back up making blocks. Congrats on the win, I am sure you will make a beautiful quilt with the blocks.
Have you found a place?
Great idea for setting these or any set of 9 patches. The two tones of yellow make a difference. Good luck.
I really like your design idea for the blocks you won. Congrats! And good luck with your move.
What an unusual block. Congratulations on winning them. They will make a great quilt.
I love this layout! I think it's my favorite so far!
I know this will turn out beautifully and your layout really makes the blocks a feature. BTW, being halfway around the world and being late are two different things - I'm late (post office is on my agenda today).
